All sales made by Cheryl Bottomley Cakes are subject to the following terms and conditions; Price The price of the order will be detailed on the quote and will be priced based on the size of the cake and level of detail.

We accept payment via the following methods;

Booking Fees

We require a non-refundable booking fee to be paid for all cakes to secure the date of your celebration. Without this booking fee your date will not be secure, and priority will be given to the first customer who pays.

Wedding cakes require a booking fee of £100, and can be paid when ordering a sample box, or using our bank details above. The booking fee covers work carried out such as research, communication by email, phone, online video calls and/or messaging, providing quotes and information about your wedding cake.

Final payment - The balance of all cakes is due 1 month prior to the event. If the balance is not paid the cake may be cancelled and the booking fee lost.

Alterations to orders

We want to make sure that we are accommodating as possible, therefore we ask that you check your invoice and sketches to ensure they are accurate, and ask that contact is made as soon as possible to rectify any changes. Unfortunately, it is not always possible to change designs / themes due to only a very small number of cakes made each week and will depend on the level of intricacy. We ask that you contact as soon as possible so we can attempt to accommodate requests.

Any alterations and further cake sketches made to the order once it has been agreed may incur extra costs, as time has already been spent designing and creating your cake. Any cake sketches that have been provided are owned by Cheryl Bottomley Cakes and are not to be copied. Once a cake sketch has been agreed further sketches will incur a £15 fee for resketching.

Cake components

Occasionally there may be non-edible components on the cake, however this will be advised prior to delivery and instruction given to the venue.

Collection / delivery

Celebration cakes can be collected from the business premises. We do prefer to deliver and set up at wedding venues, and also for other tiered cakes.

Wedding cake delivery will depend on the location of the venue. The cost will be quoted on consultation. We are not liable for cakes once they have left the premises if the customer is picking up the cake.

We will give advice on correct transportation. Cake location It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that the venue has provided a table, and or location for the cake to be displayed. We are not responsible for the cake once it has been delivered or picked up.

Allergies

All cakes are baked in a kitchen which contain nuts and other allergens such as wheat, eggs and dairy products. Please let us know if you have any guests with allergies. Documentation will be provided to the venue with allergen information for each tier provided. Once the cake is delivered we have no control over allergens at the venue.

Best before dates

All cakes are baked fresh for the date of your occasion therefore we advise that it is consumed on this date. We cannot guarantee quality if consumed more than 48 hour after the event.

Hire of cake stands

We hire cake stands for weddings at a cost of £20, a security deposit is also required which is refunded upon return. It is the customers’ responsibility to let Cheryl Bottomley Cakes know if you require one. Stands deposits will vary in cost depending on the value of the cake stand. Cake stands must be returned by the customer to Cheryl Bottomley Cakes, 50 Park Lea, Huddersfield, HD2 1QH within 5 days of the celebration undamaged. If damage has occurred, or the cake stand is not returned the deposit will be retained to replace the cake stand.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by the customer:

If your order is cancelled, your booking fee is non-refundable. This covers any work that has already been carried out such as contact via phone / email, consultations, and loss of other cakes we will have had to turned away that we will not be able to re-fill.

Cancellation within 30 days of the wedding will be subject to full payment. If full payment has been made no refunds will be given. If payment has not been made the full payment is required immediately. We are unable to give any refunds as we will not be able to refill this date.

Force Majeure Clause:

We shall not be liable for any failure to perform, where such failure or delay results from any circumstances outside our reasonable control including but not limited to any fire, flood, explosion, accident, adverse weather conditions, traffic congestion, mechanical breakdown, obstruction of any private or public highway, riot, government act, act of war, terrorism, act of God, or from any industrial dispute or strike whatsoever.

Cancellations by Cheryl Bottomley Cakes:

In the event of exceptional circumstances, such as serious illness, Cheryl Bottomley Cakes will give as much notice as possible if we are unable to fulfil your order. We will endeavour to find another cake maker to produce your order, and will refund you any monies already paid, or transfer this to another cake maker.

Coronavirus / pandemic postponements:

Cheryl Bottomley Cakes will follow government guidelines in this matter.

In the event that your wedding is not able to go ahead due to government guidelines and you need to reschedule your wedding please let us know as soon as possible. We will endeavour to reschedule your date providing we have availability, and any monies paid will be transferred to your new date. Please note that any price increase since the original booking may be applied.

In the unlikely event that we can not accommodate your new date we will endeavour to find another local cake maker to produce your order. Unfortunately, we cannot refund or transfer the deposit as this has already gone towards any work carried out such as contact via phone / email, consultations, design work and materials. As a small business we are doing everything where possible to support our customers during these difficult times and thank you in advance for your support and cooperation.

Complaints

We always strive for customer satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with your cake you must contact us within 24 hours of collection or delivery. The cake must be returned as it was delivered for full inspection.

Courses / Classes

Course materials and videos are owned by Cheryl Bottomley Cakes and content is not to be copied, repurposed, uploaded, posted, linked, or displayed anywhere else. This is for individual use for the purchaser.

Payment is non refundable as work will have been carried out to plan your course.
